Welcome
Dear Colleagues,
It was a great pleasure to welcome you to the "4th International Congress on Deuterium Depletion”, which took place in Budapest, on 17-18 October 2019.
After the success of the three previous conferences, this fourth Congress gave the researchers and medical practitioners another unique opportunity to get acquainted with this expanding field of science and share their results and experience about the research of the biological and physiological importance of the naturally occuring deuterium and also about the medical, therapeutic relevance of deuterium depletion. In this frame, our goal was to provide a global and comprehensive update of the newest results and developments in the research of deuterium depletion. We encourage scientists and medical experts worldwide to submit papers about the research of deuterium depletion in the fields of cancer research, oncotherapy, diabetes research and anti-aging and share their knowledge and experience with the wider scientific community.
I am pleased to see that more and more scientists from leading universities and institutes have joined to our scientific work worldwide and many companies became involved in the research and development of deuterium-depleted nutritional and pharmaceutical products. There is a huge demand for these types of development and treatment modalities, because our world, even the most developed countries are struggling with the continuously increasing number of patients suffering from tumorous and metabolic diseases and with their health care. Being members of this scientific community we are all partners in this endeavor. In my view, nothing is more important in the present world than the striving for finding the sustainable, effective and harmless way of prevention and treatment, because cancer burden is rising globally, exerting significant strain on populations and health systems. To avert this situation we need the collaboration of the greatest possible number of scientists and medical experts across the world. Let us imagine that and build a better future for the next generations!
